St Lucia

December 13 every year, we celebrate St Lucia. Children or grown ups get up early in the morning, put on the white dresses and light the candles. One girl is Lucia, and she is wearing candles in her hair. The others have them in their hands. Traditional songs are sung as the morning breaks. It is a beautiful tradition, and in our school it is always the children in year five, the 11-year olds, who are responsible for it.

Here is a small film from this years celebration. It is Lisa's class you see in the film.

Food

The 8-year-olds have talked about food from Greece, Spain and England. The made their own plates with "clay food" to show what the did learn:
The sign says "Food from Greece"

This sign says "Food from England"

Unfortunatly there was some problems with the spanish food.

Summer song

In Sweden, the summer holidays just started. The last dag in school, we have this "termination" ( I don't know if that is the right word for it). We gather in school, pupils, teachers and parents, and the children sing summer songs. This year we added a new song, all of our 200 children sing the song on this film. Please watch it, and thank you England for this lovely song.
